A Blissfully Short Biography of the Author

Samuel James Morris was born near Boston, in the year 1985 (Through no fault of his own). Though he has no memories from his country of birth he suspects that he may have been a professional hitman for the CIA, or possibly, a baby.

He was brought up in sunny England and he got his first taste for drama at a young age when he would regularly commit Panto as well as taking such illustrious roles as Gate Keeper 2 in school plays.
It was largely through his local amateur dramatics group and misbehaving in secondary school drama lessons that Sam started too develop his interests in comic acting.

His first ever plays (that he wrote/contributed to) were performed as part of various GCSE drama projects. In the future, when Sam stands trial for crimes against comedy, he claims he will point back to his GCSE drama lessons accusingly and the teachers who encouraged him.
It was from this point onwards that the writing bug had bitten Sam, finishing his first written play, "Grime of the Ancient Fishmonger" at the age of 17 whilst he wrestled with his A-levels.

Sam continued his writing into University where he completed his play "Hammers Sickles & Nike Ticks" as part of his final assessment, as well as helping to found New Archaic, a comic theatre company.

A Graduated Sam
Since graduating, Sam now stalks literary agents and attempts to forge a living through writing full time, his first professional production "Citizen Goom - Saviour of the Universe" was performed at the Epsom Playhouse in September '07

As well as writing, Sam has a keen interest in politics. He is a member of the UK Green Party and contested the local elections of 2004 where he received 20% of the votes (Much to the chagrin of local authorities as it later turned out that at the age of 19 he wasn't legally old enough to stand). He also worked as policy advisor of independent candidate and poet Gary Oliver when he stood in the 2005 mayoral elections of Stoke-on-Trent, master-minding the "Waste Your Vote" campaign.
In 2008 he decided to contest the local elections again... But thankfully for planet earth, he still isn't in office.
He says that he only really keeps standing to demonstrate the inherent flaws in universal suffrage and is becoming an increasing advocate of the separation of humanity and state.
Sam has been a practising Buddhist for 5 years and claims that he still needs a lot more practice.

Both his political and religious outlook can be seen to influence his writing and ideas; as is shown in plays such as "Das Immortals" and "Hammers Sickles and Nike Ticks". In fact, even bad cases of indigestion have been known to influence his writing, as witnessed in his forthcoming novel "Cold Turkey and the Case of the Missing Crime"
