Well, despite the shiny new website this is campaign is in fact already quite old. It started back almost a year ago with a hand scrawled note sent to the RGS.
Sadly, a few of our letters (and replies) have not been obtainable as at the time we had not considered that a site would ever be made... And...Er, I kind of left one in Stoke, so you'll have to wait and see if I can find it.

However we do have records from some of our exchanges. And because I like your shoes I will put these here for you to browse at your lesuire.


After our initial scrawled note to which we received no reply - we sent THIS email to the Royal Geological Society.
We decided that it was, after all a good idea to contact as many important sounding societies as possible.
And less than a week later we were all a bit suprised to receive a reply. But no mere reply. Read it Here

Now, let me tell you we were impressed by this guy. Especially since we sent a similar email to the Royal Geographic Society and all we got back was this
These early emails go someway to explaining why we hate the Royal Geographic so much, and we think that the Royal Geological Society deserve a sandwich and a cold beer.
In fact we liked the Geological chaps so much that we sent them THIS Email in reply
Sadly, this is when they stopped replying to us. Perhaps it was the comment about the "communists at the royal geographic society". We aren't sure.

Not to be deterred we then sent a REAL (snail mail to you) letter to Dr Rita, the head of the Royal Geographic Society.

We received a very short reply telling us that they couldn't (wouldn't) help and that they had already emailed us.

Naturally..... this means war

Well... The Saga continues. As you may have read on the message board we have decided to send THIS letter to ol' Liz up in Buckingham Palace. And since you've all been good, and i've just got a new digital camera, here is the letter + some (slightly blurred) pictures.

Well it took us a while (we've been busy) but given the Queen's continued failure to respond we have decided to take the fight back to the RGS. We have made them an offer that they can't refuse.....
